This is from a message my sister sent me on the 5th of April 2024. I starred it and the Holy Spirit led me back to it a few days ago:
Big take away from the episode - you are an actor on a stage that God has created. God has written the script. Do not act in your own knowledge, always ask the one who knows your script. He knows what next, he knows the length of your life. Why are you worrying about things? He has written your script, ask him how to reply the email, how to study for the exam, what to do with the day. Since it’s written on the script, all he needs to do is to read out the script to you. She referenced psalm 139:16.
We say we believe that God is the master planner of our lives but how often do we go to him to ask what the next step is? Just like she wrote in the message above, we must be very practical about it- if you’re going to study, do you ask God to show you how to study? Do you ask Him to show you how to reply a message or email? Do you ask Him how to live from day to day?
Too often, we live life as though we are called to live it alone. To go through the struggles alone. To go through disappointment alone. To go through exhaustion alone. To go through grief alone.
We go from one struggle to the next, barely making headway and sometimes feeling like failures.
We forget that we did not create ourselves so we actually can do nothing without our Creator.
Sometimes, we remember our Creator but not in all of His capacity.
We forget that He is our helper and that He has provided many other holy people who have gone before us to help us too (the Saints).
You have God the Father to help you.
You have God the Son to help you.
You have God the Holy Spirit to help you.
You have Mother Mary who interceded for the couple at the wedding feast who had run out of wine leading to the first miracle of Jesus and who longs to intercede for you too.
You have your guardian Angel who was assigned to you when you were conceived and has never left your side.
You have all the angels who are before God’s throne worshipping constantly.
You have countless saints who have gone before you. Saints who were human like us with the same worries and struggles daily. Saints who were born in families like yours or had the same occupation as you or had the same aspirations as you do. Saints who chose God even when the going got tough.
So much help is available to us. We only need to ask and I know how difficult it is to remember in times of need that you can call for help or that you don’t need to sort it out alone.
I pray that the Holy Spirit will remind us to ask for help in times of need. I pray that He will remind us when we sigh or begin to fret or get anxious, that help is available to us if we ask. We just need to ask. So help us God, amen.
On a lighter note, I’ve just realized that September is the month for my Mamas.
Yesterday was our Mother Mary’s birthday.🥹
Today is my big sister and Sugar Mama’s birthday.🥹
In 2 weeks, it’ll be my Mummy’s birthday.🥹
These women mean the world to me! Super grateful for them. May God continue to bless and keep them. ♥️♥️♥️
🕯️Bible verses of the week:
•“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
- Hebrews 4:16 NIV
•“Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.”
- Hebrews 4:14-16 MSG
•“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
-Psalms 139:16 NIV
🖋️Quote of the week:
“Develop a taste for yourself in the world -art, books, films, inspiring figures. Find that everything you’re drawn towards is part of you that’s attempting to speak back.”
