Are you fully convinced?

Romans 14:5
“One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.”
I read the verse above a few days ago and the later part of it got me thinking about conviction in various aspects of life and the fact that it is the only thing that keeps us going when the odds are stacked against us.
Oxford dictionary defines conviction as: A firmly held belief or opinion.
Spiritually, are you fully convinced about the faith you profess? Or are you just going along with the crowd? People are following Jesus so you do too(I consider this acceptable but the point here is learning about the faith yourself, delving deeper into the things you believe as a Christian). You followed people to xx church but is this actually the church for you? Do you actually understand why we call Jesus our Lord and Saviour and why it is only through His name that we can be saved?
In line with your purpose, are you fully convinced about this gift that you’ve been given? Because you might not get the reception you desire when you begin to step out in the area of your gifting(since the best things take time) you will need to be fully convinced of your mission and why you have decided to say yes to God in stepping into that mission. It is also this conviction that will keep you creating even when it seems like no one else cares. That is what will keep you going when you get 5 likes even after some months of starting a new path. Because you know that you are not doing this on a whim. You are doing this because it is in line with your purpose.
Are you fully convinced about who you are and what you stand for? Because you will be asked questions in life and things will also threaten to shake your identity, it is important to be firm in your conviction and in your why.
Obstacles will come. The only thing that will keep you going in the face of these obstacles is your conviction that what you have to offer is good and something of value. Not everyone will support you. Anyone who has started a new business will tell you that they had a vision and that was they kept their eyes on. They were convinced that what they had to offer was good. So, are you convinced that what you have to offer is good and of value?
In line with conviction, we have to become people who live in accordance to what we believe and profess. We cannot claim to believe a certain truth and live in a manner opposite to that. Your feet and hands cannot move in opposite directions and so what you do/ your actions should align with what you claim to believe in.
There are less than 3 weeks to go until the year ends. This is the time to do the soul work, to go back and determine the motive behind your actions. A time to be convinced of your why. A time to do some introspection and see if you have been living in accordance to what you preach.
This will probably not be easy. So I pray that the Holy Spirit gives you clarity as you ask the difficult questions, I pray you grace to be gentle with yourself when there’s need for it and I pray you a heart that can listen to the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
